KPK questions Hatta on Japanese trains case | The Jakarta Post: "The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday questioned Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Radjasa on an alleged mark up to costs incurred in the transportation of used trains from Japan in 2006.
Hatta was questioned as a witness in relation to his role as transportation minister at the time of the purchase.
In 2009, the commission arrested the former ministry director general for railways, Soemino Eko Saputro, for his alleged involvement in the alleged graft.
“I gave an explanation about the train grant from Japan,' Hatta said Wednesday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Earlier the KPK reported that the cost of transporting the trains from Japan to Indonesia in 2006 had been marked up, inflicting state losses of up to Rp 11 billion (US 1.2 million)."
